Information to Help You Safely Date
Your Soul
Our soul is our inner spiritual self, our personality, spiritual or moral
force. We wanted to add the following information to help protect your
inner-self. Because the bible is full of wisdom and still is a great place for
to get advice for today, we have included some verses. Sex seems to be
popular in adult dating. Also Lust, Homosexuality, Love, and Marriage are
some other topics that are listed here. Some of the punishment was so
severe compared to today’s society.
Lust
Deuteronomy 22:
22 If a man is found sleeping with another man's wife, both the man who
slept with her and the woman must die. You must purge the evil from Israel.
23 If a man happens to meet in a town a virgin pledged to be married and he
sleeps with her, 24 you shall take both of them to the gate of that town and
stone them to death--the girl because she was in a town and did not scream
for help, and the man because he violated another man's wife. You must
purge the evil from among you.
Mathew 5:
27 "You have heard that it was said, 'Do not commit adultery.' 28 But I tell
you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed
adultery with her in his heart. 29 If your right eye causes you to sin, gouge
it out and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body
than for your whole body to be thrown into hell. 30 And if your right hand
causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to lose
one part of your body than for your whole body to go into hell.
Homosexuality.
1 Corinthians:
9 Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do
not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers
nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders 10 nor thieves nor the
greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom
of God.
Leviticus:
13 "'If a man lies with a man as one lies with a woman, both of them have
done what is detestable. They must be put to death; their blood will be on
their own heads.
24 Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to
sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another. 25 They
exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served created
things rather than the Creator--who is forever praised. Amen. 26 Because
of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged
natural relations for unnatural ones. 27 In the same way the men also
abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one
another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in
themselves the due penalty for their perversion. 28 Furthermore, since
they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, he gave
them over to a depraved mind, to do what ought not to be done. 29 They
have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity.
They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips,
30 slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways
of doing evil; they disobey their parents; 31 they are senseless, faithless,
heartless, ruthless. 32 Although they know God's righteous decree that
those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these
very things but also approve of those who practice them.
Following are verses that are body (sex) and soul related.
1 Corinthians
6.13 You know the old saying, "First you eat to live, and then you live to
eat"? Well, it may be true that the body is only a temporary thing, but
that's no excuse for stuffing your body with food, or indulging it with sex.
Since the Master honors you with a body, honor him with your body!
Sex should wait for marriage.
6.16·20 There's more to sex than mere skin on skin. Sex is as much spiritual
mystery as physical fact. As written in Scripture, "The two become one."
Since we want to become spiritually one with the Master, we must not
pursue the kind of sex that avoids commitment and intimacy, leaving us more
lonely than ever-the kind of sex that can never "become one." There is a
sense in which sexual sins are different from all others. In sexual sin we
violate the sacredness of our own bodies, these bodies that were made for
God-given and God-modeled love, for "becoming one" with another. Or didn't
you realize that your body is a sacred place, the place of the Holy Spirit?
Don't you see that you can't live however you please, squandering what God
paid such a high price for? The physical part of you is not some piece of
property belonging to the spiritual part of you. God owns the whole works.
So let people see God in and through your body.
Love
1 If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am
only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 If I have the gift of prophecy
and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that
can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. 3 If I give all I possess
to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain
nothing.
4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not
proud. 5 It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it
keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with
the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always
perseveres.
8 Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where
there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass
away. 9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10 but when perfection
comes, the imperfect disappears. 11 When I was a child, I talked like a
child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I
put childish ways behind me. 12 Now we see but a poor reflection as in a
mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know
fully, even as I am fully known. 13 And now these three remain: faith, hope
and love. But the greatest of these is love.
Marriage
Genesis 2:
20 So the man gave names to all the livestock, the birds of the air and all
the beasts of the field. But for Adam no suitable helper was found.
21 So the Lord God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep; and while he
was sleeping, he took one of the man's ribs and closed up the place with
flesh. 22 Then the Lord God made a woman from the rib he had taken out of
the man, and he brought her to the man. 23 The man said, "This is now bone
of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called 'woman,' for she was
taken out of man." 24 For this reason a man will leave his father and mother
and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh.
Ecclesiastes 9:
7 Go, eat your food with gladness, and drink your wine with a joyful heart,
for it is now that God favors what you do. 8 Always be clothed in white, and
always anoint your head with oil. 9 Enjoy life with your wife, whom you love,
all the days of this meaningless life that God has given you under the sun--
all your meaningless days. For this is your lot in life and in your toilsome
labor under the sun. 10 Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your
might, for in the grave, where you are going, there is neither working nor
planning nor knowledge nor wisdom.
Matthew 19:
3 Some Pharisees came to him to test him. They asked, "Is it lawful for a
man to divorce his wife for any and every reason?" 4 "Haven't you read," he
replied, "that at the beginning the Creator 'made them male and female,' 5
and said, 'For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be
united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh'? 6 So they are no
longer two, but one. Therefore what God has joined together, let man not
separate." 7 "Why then," they asked, "did Moses command that a man give
his wife a certificate of divorce and send her away?" 8 Jesus replied,
"Moses permitted you to divorce your wives because your hearts were hard.
But it was not this way from the beginning. 9 I tell you that anyone who
divorces his wife, except for marital unfaithfulness, and marries another
woman commits adultery."
